Some of the theater companies whose work I have championed in the past have gone in somewhat different directions (sometimes changing directions multiple times). Others have teched out and closed.
Of late, among the smaller companies, I have greatly enjoyed the work of Constellation Theatre Company, in the city, and 1st Stage, in Tysons Corner. Both of them present theatrically creative work in somewhat confining performance spaces.
