Doug Varone blogs the creation of a new dance to be premiered by his company at the Clarice Smith Center in late October. Music for the piece will be based on J.S Bach's English Suites.

In a week, I head back into the studio with the dancers and I cannot wait! It has been a long time since I have seen this material on live bodies. Video is a great tool because you can rewind and replay for hours and the dancers NEVER get tired. But having the input and energy of live bodies and minds in front of me (to translate these ideas and steps) is what excites me. I have a very, very good idea of how much of our original material from June is satisfying and a plan of action to throw out or re-choreograph the rest.
