Let's Not Do It And Say We Did Dept.: Metro is exploring the possibility of video monitors playing commercials in the stations and cars. I can live with the oversized billboard trains, and the zoetrope ads in the tunnels would be a novelty to keep the tourists entertained, but please, I want my transit advertising silent.

I've seen more than the usual number of ladybird beetles in the house this fall, where "the usual number" is zero. I've seen at least four, and one is still cowering in my bathroom this morning. Makes sense, it's warm and moist there up on the ceiling most of the day. I suppose the spiders got the other ones.

Sorta makes me nostalgic for Minnesota.
