Last pickup rehearsal for Laramie, more of a goof-around rehearsal. Since there had been a lot of good-natured part envy going around, Andy set this up as an opportunity to read the monologues you always wanted to do. We sat in a circle and just rotated the parts around, sort of at random. If a passage came up that you really wanted to read, then you could trade with someone else.
I doubt that the rehearsal improved the show in any way, but we found some mirthful moments in it.
I run most of my monologues for this play at some point backstage just about every evening, so I'll be doing my own pickup rehearsal tomorrow night.
Oh, and I discovered a short line of Fred Phelps's that is in the playscript edition but not in the published book, and with it, the speech about Is. 58:1 makes a lot more sense. So maybe the evening was worth something after all.
