Life in a Northern Virginia suburb of Washington, D.C. B.M.A.T.C., and Etruscan typewriter erasers. Blogged by David Gorsline.
Leta has acquired, through various means, a DVD player and two TV sets.
Both TVs are rather old, and along with other late-model features that
they're missing (like the owner's manuals, TYVM Brett), they lack S-video or
RCA input
jacks—there's just a plain old coax cable input.
Les had rigged up something that allowed her to connect the DVD player
through a VCR, but we never could figure out how it was supposed to work.
I found a company online (svideo.com) that sells a $30 kit that contains a
RCA-to-coax modulator and connecting cables—much cheaper than an new
TV.
We hooked up that sucker and now Leta is watching swashbuckly action pictures
with the big dogs.
