Unfortunately, this is turning into a dog-bites-man
story.
In an unusual move, some scientists at the Environmental Protection Agency
are accusing the agency's politically appointed bosses of putting politics
ahead of science. Overruling regional EPA scientists, agency higher ups
approved changes to the way North Dakota calculates smog emissions from
state power plants. Critics say the new model deliberately underestimates
pollution.
