• John Wesley Powell, 19th-century explorer of the American West; John Wesley Hardin, Texas gunfighter; and John Wesley Harding, English folk singer. Bob Dylan's song is about the Texan, not the Englishman.
• E. B. White wrote Charlotte's Web; T. H. White wrote The Once and Future King; T. E. Lawrence unified Arabs against the Turks during World War I and wrote Seven Pillars of Wisdom: A Triumph.
• Richard Deacon was The Dick Van Dyke Show; Richard Dawson was Hogan's Heroes (though he did have a guest spot with Rob and Laura).
